Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups are formed to foster connections, further knowledge, and engage in conversations and activities around a common interest.  Network with other members, make new friends, stay in touch with old friends, gain new knowledge, sharpen acquired skills, or just enjoy a pleasurable time together.  Open to all members, these groups invite occasional or regular participation.

With the approval of the board of directors, any member may form a new interest group providing its meetings will not conflict with other scheduled branch meetings and provided that it is open to all branch members.  If you’d like to start an interest group, please contact any member of the Board of Directors.

Each summer members complete surveys to identify which group(s) they are interested .  Once each group has identified the number of members who are interested, they develop a plan so that everyone can participate.  Since many of the groups meet in people’s homes, they may choose to split into two groups.  The group leaders present their plans to the Board so that we can assure good access.  You can join a group in the middle of the year if there is room.
