Dinner with a Scientist 2017
Mariposa AAUW was thrilled to take 32 MCHS 9th-12th grade female students UC Merced to enjoy an evening of dining and Q & A table talks with professional women who chose careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students were thoroughly engaged in all three rounds of table discussions. It was a completely successful evening. Thanks so much to Trish Gilger, MyIP, for developing this event – this was the fifth year and it is here to stay! Thanks also to Marilyn Saunders, AAUW DWS Event Coordinator; Hannah Ewing, UC Merced School of Natural Sciences Event Coordinator; the many professional scientists who donated their time and expertise in spending an evening inspiring our high school attendees, and the many sponsors including UC Merced School of Natural Sciences, MyIP, Tavis Corporation and MCHS Academic Boosters Club.
